The age old question — but how do the pasties stay on? Here’s how to attach them securely like a pro burlesquer using two tried-and-true methods.
Method 1: Using Pastie Tape
(Recommended)
Pastie tape is the easiest and cleanest option. It’s skin-safe, strong enough to last through a performance, and removes without a mess.
What You’ll Need:
Scissors (optional – the tape I sell can also be ripped by hand)
Step-by-Step:
Prep Your Skin: Make sure your skin is completely clean and dry. Do not use oils or lotion on your chest on the same day. Tape won't stick to my moisturized skin. If you want to be extra safe use alcohol wipes to clean the area. Do not use micellar water, because that can leave an oil like residue.
Apply the Tape to the Pastie: Cut or tear the tape to a suitable size and apply it along the edges, making sure no tape extends beyond the pastie. Avoid touching the sticky part of the tape.
Press the Tape Firmly: Before removing the backing, massage the tape into the pastie using your fingertips or the back of your scissors. This helps to remove any air bubbles and allows the adhesive bond properly.
Remove the Backing: Carefully peel off the protective film from the tape.
Perfect Your Placement: Stand in front of a mirror and apply one pastie at a time. Keep your arms relaxed—lifting your arm or breast while applying can change the final position. Make sure your pasties are placed on even heights*.
Press & Hold: Place the pastie where you want them to be and press firmly for a few seconds to ensure a strong hold.
Test the Hold: Move around a little to make sure they’re secure. If anything feels loose or unsecured, remove the pastie and apply fresh tape again. Once a pastie is removed, you always need to put on new tape.
*Pro Tip: If your nipples are at different heights or you’d like them to appear higher, use slightly larger pasties. Position them where you want your tassels to be, covering only the tip of the nipple. Hide any exposed areola with makeup. This allows you to get a more symmetrical look, if you would like that.
Cleaning Tip: Don’t peel off the tape after a single use! Instead, just keep layering fresh tape over the old one. Once you’ve built up around 10+ layers, you can gently peel off the bulk all at once. This keeps your pasties in better shape and saves time.
Removal Tip: Gently peel off the pasties and use an oil-based makeup remover to dissolve any tape residue. Afterward, applying lotion to your nipples can help soothe the skin.

Method 2: Using Mastix/Spirit Gum
For extra staying power, adhesives like Mastix or Spirit Gum are the way to go. These are great for intense performances, high-energy dancing, or if you tend to sweat a lot.
What You’ll Need:
Adhesive remover (such as isopropyl myristate or spirit gum remover)
Step-by-Step:
First-Time Prep: If this is your first time using Spirit Gum on a new set of pasties, apply a thin layer of Spirit Gum to the inside of the pastie and let it dry completely. This helps future applications bond better.
Cean & Dry the Skin: Just like with tape, start with a clean, dry surface—no lotion, oils, or sweat.
Apply the Adhesive: Brush or dab a thin, even layer of Spirit Gum onto the pastie. Let it dry until it becomes very tacky (this usually takes 15-30 seconds).
Check the Tackiness: If the adhesive still feels slippery, it’s not ready yet. You can tap it gently with your finger to speed up the drying process.
Perfect Your Placement: Stand in front of a mirror and apply one pastie at a time, keeping your arms relaxed.
Press & Hold: Press the pastie onto the skin and hold it in place for at least 60 seconds to ensure a strong bond. If needed, apply light pressure for longer to set it properly.
Check the Hold: Move around a little—if the pasties slide or feel loose, they’re not dry enough yet. You can remove them, let the glue dry a bit more, then reapply. The bond should be very strong and secure.
Important: Since our pasties are made of 3D printed plastics, they don’t "breathe." This means using too much Spirit Gum can prevent it from drying properly. Less is more and make sure it's truly tacky to gurantee a strong hold ❤️
Cleaning Tip: Let the glue build up over time—there’s no need to scrape it off after every wear. Once it becomes too thick, you can either carefully peel it off or use a Dremel to gently buff it down.
Removal Tip: Use an adhesive remover like isopropyl myristate or Spirit Gum remover, letting it soak in before gently peeling off the pasties. Never rip them off dry, as this can irritate your skin.

Final Tips for a Perfect Application
Always test your chosen method before a big event to make sure it holds up under movement.
If your skin is sensitive, do a patch test with the adhesive to avoid any strong reactions.
Now that you know how to keep them secure and perfectly placed, you’re ready to twirl, tease, and sparkle — whether on stage, at a festival, or just for fun!
